Sec 2F - Shurbs Galore
Posted by: Victoria School, at: 11:40:00 PM

Class 2F, led by Mr. Donald Leo & Mr. Chew Hwa Soon, initially planned to embark on a Guinness World Record along with several other classes from the various levels, but due to unforeseen circumstances and the lack of pragmatism of such a feat, it was abandoned at the last minute.
Yet, despite their lack of time, they managed to come up with an extremely creative challenge - to plant the VS crest just outside the D&T workshop at the car park using real live shrubs. Perfectly coinciding with Live Earth to reduce carbon emissions in the earth. They bought all they needed (plants, pots & soil etc.) through the use of their class fund, therefore everyone contributed equally in terms of money. They organized their class into 2 shifts as it would be inefficient and impractical for everyone to be doing something due to the limited space available at their venue.
A problem they faced was the lack of soil but they managed to overcome this by digging deeper into the soil. A certain pupil from 2F when interviewed about how he felt about his class’s challenge said that it was “very fun but tiring”. Indeed, toiling in the morning sun all the way through the hot and humid afternoon is no mean feat. We applaud these Victorians for their ruggedness and perseverance.
